Counselling or clinical Psychologist - Band 7 equivalent - Remote
We are looking for a passionate Counselling/Clinical Psychologist to join our growing team. The Mental Health Service provides high quality assessment and treatment to clients accessing healthcare via their insurance provider or employer. We believe in the efficacy of virtual interventions, and we provide brief therapy to a low- risk population, presenting with mild-moderate common mental health problems.
Annual salary: up to £45,000 pro rata DOE
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 5:30.
Reporting to: Clinical Lead
In order to apply for this position, you must be Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
As the consulting work is carried out remotely, you must have a private space where you can work to ensure confidentiality.
You must be based in the UK.
Counselling/clinical psychologist specification:
- Ability to work autonomously within HCPC and British Psychological Society (BPS) professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures (Essential).
- Ability to provide comprehensive and integrative case formulations, including detailed risk assessments of patients across the lifespan (Essential).
- Ability to provide effective phone-delivered psychotherapy, demonstrating awareness of the benefits and limitations of this medium (Essential).
- Ability to work to a brief therapy model; offering goal-oriented and evidence-based interventions within a brief framework (Essential).
- Experience working with individuals, couples, families, and relational systems (desirable).
- Ability to work within an intersectional frame, providing culturally sensitive interventions and demonstrating awareness of affirming therapeutic work with gender and sexually diverse communities (desirable).
- Competency in a variety of therapeutic modalities and flexibility in tailoring these to the needs of the client (Essential).
- Technical competency (we are a virtual service), ability to learn and adapt to new systems, to navigate clinical record keeping systems, use MS Teams to communicate with the wider team, and a good internet connection are essential, as is an ergonomic home office space (Essential).
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals within the team, holding a compassionate understanding of clients, and being able to relay their struggles with respect and care (Essential).
- To be self-motivated, to have highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and high standards of record keeping (Essential).
- To engage in regular clinical supervision in line with BPS Guidelines (Essential).
- To have experience managing and assessing risk (on-site and remote), as well as liaising and signposting to appropriate services and organisations (Essential).
- To have experience providing video-delivered and phone-delivered psychotherapy (Desirable).
- Previous IAPT or EAP experience (Desirable).
- To be a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (Desirable)
