Job Details

We have a hugely varied and integral Clinical Lead role within our award winning Criminal Justice service with the scope to shape and develop the way we support people who’ve experienced mental distress in a person-centred way. The service has multiple projects working within courts, prisons, probation and the community and the role will guide and manage the way our practitioners work alongside people to provide mental health support in all these stages of the criminal justice system.

We take great pride in the work we do and as a charity working with people on a voluntary basis our teams can be agile and reactive and this role will reflect that looking at the most effective as well as new ways we can provide support. We’ve seen impressive growth over the last two years extending our remit of work and this is something we’re highly motivated to continue which the Clinical Lead will be a key part of.

The right candidate for the role will have a Forensic or Clinical Psychology background but unlike in similar roles that exist in other settings will have autonomy and freedom to be decisive and instil reforms and new ideas to improve service provision working for a charity. Maintaining high quality and governance standards is integral to the role and the post holder will work closely with senior managers to support them to deliver that while also valuing the wellbeing of teams and appreciating the demanding nature of the work.

Key functions of the role include:

  • Providing group clinical supervision, reflective practice and relevant training to frontline staff
  • Supporting the auditing of the services offered and the development of measures to demonstrate efficacy
  • Advising on evidence-based practice
  • Supporting risk management strategies and continuous improvement
  • Contributing to business development by identifying new opportunities

If you are someone that enjoys varied and challenging work with flexibility that allows creativity and which has a genuine impact for the people who’ve experienced mental distress then apply now! As the Clinical Lead for Together’s Criminal Justice service you will be able to be innovative and dynamic in your approach to maintaining and improving our services with less of the bureaucracy faced in other parts of the sector and if this excites you please get in touch.

This is a full time (37.5 hrs a week) post based at our head office in Kennington, South London although flexible working is incorporated and 1-2 days a week in office will be the maximum required combined with working from home.,  We can also consider part-time working depending on the candidate and can discuss this further. We welcome informal conversations with potential candidates, so feel free to contact us.

Our core principle at together is service user leadership as we believe that benefits those people who are accessing support and has positive impact on all aspects of Together, and wider society. We want to be able to learn from people who have a range of views and who have experienced mental distress. By learning from the people who use our services in that way we aim to inform and influence Together from a Lived Experience perspective.
