“When you choose to join us, you’re choosing more than just a job…. you’re choosing to make a difference”

Humankind, in partnership with The Basement Recovery Project, provide both clinical and recovery services for Adults and Young People in Calderdale (Recovery Steps and Branching Out) covering rural and urban environments, a diverse population and working with excellent local community partners.

We have a vacancy for a Clinical Psychologist to join us in Calderdale to support the development and growth of a greater psychological approach to treatment of substance misuse in Calderdale, with acknowledgement of the multi-faceted drivers of addiction from a biological, environmental and cognitive perspective with a focus on a trauma informed approach.

Responsibilities include:

  • To provide specialist psychological assessment of service users referred for treatment of addiction.
  • To work alongside Recovery Navigators to embed a psychologically informed approach to addiction.
  • To formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of service user’s psychological problems, based on a multi-factorial understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
  • To work as part of the multi-professional team providing clinical psychology input within the service.

Experience in working in this specialist field of substance misuse is desirable but not essential.  You should though, have a keen interest in supporting this client group and in working within a team of talented, passionate individuals who work alongside service users and volunteers to deliver an excellent service. The successful candidate will receive all the appropriate clinical supervision and support.

We would welcome interested parties to call 01422 415 550 and speak to our Service Clinical Director, Anna Price, for an informal discussion or to arrange a visit.
Please read the full Job Description and Person Specification prior to applying for this position.
