40 hours per week as agreed, term time only plus up to five weeks of work in holidays 

The role: The School Psychologist is a whole-School post working as a clinical psychologist with boys and as a consultant with boys, adults and parents in the School community to develop the essential social-emotional competencies in pupils at Harrow School. You will receive referrals and make assessments of boys who need specialist support; design and deliver classes/courses, provide training for colleagues and other professionals, and contribute to the development of related policies and the PSHE Education Programme.

The skills: You will be an experienced consultant, used to liaising with senior leaders and healthcare professionals. You will be comfortable to share your expertise in group settings to various audiences using engaging training materials. You will enjoy the responsibility of inputting into the formulation of policies and education programmes. You will be registered with the HCPC and will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Your calm, approachable and knowledgeable manner will win the respect of boys, colleagues, parents and line reports.

The environment: Harrow School is situated within a beautiful site in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world, with around 840 boys studying at Harrow. The Medical Centre team provides a full-time comprehensive healthcare service for the boys and employees of the School. A consultant in child and adolescent psychiatry attends each week to consult with the Medical Centre staff on the emotional and psychological aspects of the boys’ care, as well as providing a direct service to the boys and their families.
