We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at our Edinburgh centre on a 0.6FTE contract.

We are happy to consider flexible working arrangements and secondments. The role can be appointed at 8A, or with preceptorship support towards 8A from a band 7 for a newly qualified candidate.

Your responsibilities

  • As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of high quality, evidence-based and specialist programme of psychological assessment and support for people dealing with cancer. 
  • You will contribute your professional expertise to Maggie’s MDT and integrated programme of cancer support for people living with the impact of cancer, aligned with the Clinical and Counselling Psychology Role Expectation Guidelines. 
  • You will be responsible for the facilitation of support groups, networking groups, workshops, courses, and lectures and will have responsibility for enabling people affected by cancer to access all appropriate elements of Maggie’s programme of support.
  • You will support the continuing development of psychosocial support in relation to Maggie’s programme – providing teaching input within the local community about Maggie’s model of psychosocial support and the theoretical and cultural underpinnings to the programme. 
  • You will be responsible for recording data in relation to your own work in line with Maggie’s policies and procedures and for participation in the ongoing programme and practice evaluation in relation to both your own work and that of programme activity within the centre.
