Role Summary

The Met Police have a vision for Optima Health to deliver a leading-edge Blue Light OH & Wellbeing service. This role is to lead the mental health services to achieve this vision including managing the team of onsite counsellors and MH clinicians & account managing the EAP and associated services as the lead point of contact and subject matter expert.  The role will require an on-call element in the case of Major incidents.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading the mental health practitioner team and associated partners to deliver the MPS Mental Health service.
  • Acting as subject matter expert in the area with support from the team.
  • Assisting with the culture change within the MPS and awareness around mental health.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Director & MPS CMO to ensure a seamless client engagement with a consistent and agreed message.
  • Stakeholders's perception is managed to ensure it is consistently positive to achieve at least 8//10 in any survey and client is happy to be a reference for new business undertaking all appropriate actions to achieve this.
  • Ensuring adherence to Optima Health's customer charter and code of conduct for the whole team.
  • Ensuring a proactive and engaging service is delivered at all times, always seeking the opportunity to exceed expectations but not overpromising to achieve a bi annual survey monkey score of at least 80% positive from managers.
  • Ensuring any positive, negative or constructive feedback is received graciously, reviewed and actioned where appropriate and action taken communicated to the client & in compliance with the compliments & complaint handling policy.
  • Demonstrable culture of continuous improvement and service excellence embedded across the service
  • Working in collaboration with the team, the contract has been retained at retender/renewal.
  • Carry out other ad hoc tasks commensurate with level of responsibility as requested by the Director or delegated authority
  • Support the Senior Management Team in managing business administration and activities
  • Deliver internal presentations, write monthly reports and attend management meetings.

  • Leading all mental health associated projects to an effective implementation as determined by the client and project board

  • Making sure Optima Health's clinical governance is complied with at all times by the clinical and operational delivery team including contractors.

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role

  • Occupational, Organisational or Business Psychologist with experience in a similar large organisation leading culture change.
  • Thorough knowledge of mental health in the workplace to act as a subject matter expert
  • People management, team motivation skills and influencing skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills (both written and oral)
  • Solutions and targets focussed
  • Outcome focused - able to meet targets and deadlines
  • Team player with awareness of personal impact
  • Client and stakeholder management
  •  An understanding of the Occupational Health marketplace in a similar organisation to the MPS is preferred
  • Planning and organising skills with LEAN and Project Management accreditations an advantage.
  • Able to work under pressure and against challenging timescales
  • IT literate
  • Degree preferred, but not essential. An
  • Organisational/Occupational/Business Psychologist may be well suited to the role.
