Job Details

Mill Garth Hospital is a 21-bed high dependency recovery and rehabilitation hospital, located in Meanwood Leeds. It is situated within two miles of Leeds City Centre. It has access to local amenities, such as shops, GP surgery, opticians and dental services. It is located on regular bus routes and we provide free car parking for staff and visitors. 

We provide active and positive engagement for males aged 18 years and over, who experience a range of mental health disorders.

The Forensic Consultant Psychologist will work closely with the senior management team in delivering the strategic direction of the service to the Hospital Director and Consultant Psychiatrist. You will ensure both the professional psychological practice and quality of the psychology department, to ensure excellence in patient experience and outcomes.

You will contribute to the development and audit of services at your site and more broadly when required and asked.

To support the development and delivery of behavioural and other psychological interventions for patients and service users and provide appropriately developed psychologically informed guidance to reduce risks, aid recovery and independence. To provide consultation to the Head of Psychology and Senior Managers as required. To work within clinical and research governance initiatives.

In this role, you will be:

  • Carrying out patient psychological assessments
  • Conducting patient 1:1 sessions
  • Writing relevant reports
  • Working as part of the team 
  • Active member of the MDT

Experience of completing HR20 assessments would be helpful, but training could be provided
