Pg Dip Senior Wellbeing Practitioner (SWP)

Anna Freud is a world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and their families. Our mission is to close the gap in wellbeing and mental health by advancing, translating, delivering, and sharing the best science and practice with everyone who impacts the lives of children, young people and their families. More information about Anna Freud is available on our website: www.annafreud.org/about-us/.

We value diversity and aim to have diverse workforce that reflects the community and our service users, in line with our vision, values and inclusion commitments. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.

Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) and Wellbeing Services are going through an ambitious change. This step-change in provision comes from a recognition that systems transformation is needed if CYPMH and Wellbeing Services are to meet the growing demand. These are not simply training programmes to improve the competence of frontline practitioners but are an ambitious service transformation programme involving systems change across the whole of CYPMH and Wellbeing Services.

The Postgraduate Diploma (Pg Dip) Senior Wellbeing Practitioner (SWP) programme is delivered in collaboration with University College London. It is a part-time programme that runs across two years and launched in January 2023. The programme aims to offer a career pathway for current Child Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) and Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) to develop into more senior roles within their services. The delivery is mixed-mode including both online and in-person teaching in London. Students on the Pg Dip SWP programme learn a mixture of advanced clinical skills and supervision techniques that they will continue to enhance throughout the duration of their time on the programme and within their workplace settings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive clinical experience working with children, young people, parents and families, and those with neurodiversity (including ASC and/or LD), within a CAMHS or similar setting. We would particularly welcome candidates with specialist interest, knowledge and experience with neurodivergent CYP and families. Furthermore, experience as a clinical supervisor and/or providing group supervision for mental health professionals in CYPMH and Wellbeing Services is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively in a  multidisciplinary setting and cultural awareness to create reflective and inclusive learning environments. Please view the Job Profile for all the requirements.

Join this programme team of enthusiastic mental health professionals during an exciting period of growth, as the second intake of Year 1 students start. There will also be opportunities to work across various Anna Freud Workforce Development Programmes, such as the Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision.

Please email recruitment@annafreud.org with any job enquiries, or if you require assistance or experience difficulties when applying. Please note that successful candidate(s) will be asked to evidence their Right to Work in the UK post-job offer – we do not hold a sponsor licence therefore we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship.
