About us
The Senior Civil Service (SCS) Leadership Assessment Service supports the selection and recruitment for senior roles across the Civil Service.
We collaborate with government departments, functions and professions to develop and deliver high-quality, customer-focused assessment products and solutions that are grounded in occupational psychology and psychometrics.
We’re a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team at the forefront of assessment innovation. We aim to help identify and develop the best people from all backgrounds, including the Civil Service’s prestigious talent programmes, and are actively creating a growing range of evidence-based psychological assessment tools.
The role
This is a key role within the SCS Leadership Assessment Service. You’ll be instrumental in developing, managing and evaluating what we do, making sure we deliver an efficient, expert service and use best practice methods when selecting for roles.
You’ll work with key stakeholders across the UK to provide psychological advice and guidance on leadership assessments. At the same time, you’ll ensure products and services which are currently outsourced are fit for purpose. Your work is likely to involve some travel around the UK and you’ll need to work flexibly in order to deliver to deadlines.
As Principal Occupational Psychologist, you’ll work alongside the Head of the Occupational Psychology Service and provide thought leadership in all areas of recruitment, selection and development for the Civil Service. You might also be required to manage another Occupational Psychologist.
About you
We need a forward-looking occupational psychologist we can rely on. You’ll need previous leadership experience, as well as experience delivering leadership assessments and developing and implementing occupation psychology products within an applied setting.
You’ll also need the following qualifications and memberships:
- Chartered membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) in the Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP)
- Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or willing and eligible to apply for registration
- BPS Test User: Occupational, Ability (Level A)
- BPS Test User: Occupational, Personality (Level B)
