Are you a confident experienced social care professional who is keen to deliver, support and develop exceptional outcomes for children and families in a supportive and creative environment?  If so, we want to hear from you.

Hackney’s Edge of Care Service works to support more adolescents to remain living with their parents or primary caregivers, wherever it is safe for them to do so, by delivering specialist, intensive support at points of relational crisis. The Edge of Care team is a multidisciplinary team, comprising social care and clinical staff. It is a secondary service and so works closely with case holding practitioners from other services within Hackney Children and Families Services, as well as partner agencies. The team has a strong focus on practice that is systemic, trauma-informed and anti-racist. It’s underpinned by a commitment to empower families by building on their strengths. Dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate, as an Edge of Care practitioner you’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families.

Hackney Children and Families Service seeks to actively contribute to organisational learning through recognising, promoting and supporting best practice and service development where required, retaining a clear focus upon positive outcomes for children and families across the borough. Hackney is proud of its organisational learning culture and strives to find innovative ways of engaging and facilitating change with young people and their families. We offer staff wide-ranging training and development opportunities, including systemic training and through the North London Teaching Partnership.

Over recent years we have become renowned for innovation. From Reclaiming Social Work to Contextual Safeguarding, we have challenged norms and carved new paths. We value systemic leadership and encourage devolved decision-making at all levels - with senior managers working alongside front-line staff.

You must have a qualification at degree level or equivalent, and substantial experience in a relevant social care field, including social work, probation or youth work, plus evidence of continuing professional development. An enhanced DBS check is required.

The recruitment process is anonymous. Therefore, we do not accept supporting statements or CVs.

When applying, there will be a number of questions relating to the post on the application form. It is essential that you complete the application questions, responding to each using examples of your skills, knowledge and experience.
