About the role

Are you an experienced, trusted and compassionate Educational and Child Psychologist, recently qualified or about to complete your accredited professional training?

We are seeking an Educational and Child Psychologist to join our friendly and dynamic team within the Department of Education, Sport and Culture on the beautiful Isle of Man.

If you are interested in making a positive difference to the lives of children, families, schools and the wider community, enjoy building relationships in multi-professional teams and applying psychology in all areas, we would love to hear from you.

A workplace that invests in you

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements; the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.

Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.

This opportunity offers the chance to enjoy applying and using evidence based psychology to provide a range of interventions and improve outcomes for children and young people and their families. In addition, we can provide great opportunities to develop professional practice and to contribute to strategic developments and pathways. We have a strong commitment to supporting CPD within our team, including therapeutic approaches such as Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) and family therapy.

Our service framework prioritises early interventions and development work, alongside high quality complex casework within the Island’s schools and communities. We provide our team with the time for creative and reflective practice and support, and provide excellent IT support including provision of laptops, smartphones and iPads.

Discounted access to the NSC gym and island swimming pools as well as 1-to-1 support programmes and exercise classes with qualified instructors.

Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and sign-posting on a wide range of issues.

Ability to take an unpaid career break after 3 years’ service.

Access to the Isle of Man Public Service Cycle to Work scheme after your first year of employment.

A relocation package of up to £5,000 based on receipts is available for this role.
