G-map Services Ltd

Therapeutic Practitioner

Full-time (part-time may be considered)

Greater Manchester

Salary £37.5k £40k

At the forefront of developments in the field of harmful sexual behaviour for over 30 years, G-map is an independent organisation that specialises in working with children and young people who present with sexual behaviour problems.  In addition to our assessment and intervention packages we also provide bespoke preventative services, consultation and training.

We are a multi-agency team with the common goal of safeguarding the public through helping children and young people to make positive diversions from inappropriate and harmful sexual behaviour pathways.  Pioneers of developing the Good Lives Model for young people, we support our service users to meet core social and personal needs in adaptive and pro-social ways.  We have an established reputation for developing risk assessments and a proven track record of integrating young people in the community via our ICOPE programme.

We are seeking experienced and dynamic professionals who share our passion for helping children and young people with complex risks and needs to achieve good outcomes.

You will have an Honours degree and a recognised qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Health or other relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience.  You will be confident in completing high quality assessments and interventions with young people, alongside representing G-map in multi-agency forums.  Excellent communication and report writing skills are integral to the roles.

The posts are based in Sale, Greater Manchester, but you will be required to travel to some appointments, so a current driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Whilst experience in the field of harmful sexual behaviour is highly desirable, we would also like to hear from colleagues with direct experience of working with complex trauma presentations and attachment issues and/or experience in delivering recognised therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.  Good Child Protection knowledge, competence in working with complex risks and needs, ability to engage and establish rapport with young people, good organisational skills and experience in delivering training to external professionals are assets we would value.

We offer excellent terms and conditions including private pension, training, opportunities for flexible working, and a generous annual leave allowance of up to 33 days plus bank holidays.  We are excited to hear what you will bring to our team!

For further information or discussion about the posts please contact Laura Wylie or Helen Griffin (details below).
