Senior Lecturer (Chartered Forensic Psychologist)

Salary: £45,163 - £55,295 per annum pro rata

Part Time: 7.4 contractual hours per week (Thursdays)

Background

An excellent opportunity to join our friendly team has opened up for an enthusiastic part-time Senior Lecturer. If you are a forensic psychologist with Chartership with the BPS and/or registered with the HPCP and would like to be part of our diverse and vibrant academic department, and share your expertise in working in forensic settings with our Stage 1 MSc Forensic & Investigative Forensic Psychology students as well as students across our other courses, this post is for you. This role is part-time, and can fit around other work commitments or responsibilities with most (or all) of the hours allocated to Thursdays, which is the day our MSc Forensic & Investigative Psychology runs it’s applied modules and sessions.

The Role

The successful candidate will support our current course director of the BPS accredited MSc Forensic & Investigative Psychology course (Stage 1) and contribute to teaching across our other undergraduate and postgraduate courses as agreed with your line manager, as well as be able to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects or contribute to other student experience related responsibilities as per your interests. In addition, you might be asked to help with additional administrative roles, as appropriate.

The Person

Applicants should be a BPS chartered forensic psychologist, or a forensic psychologist registered with the HCPC, with practice experience. Experience of teaching in the University sector would be advantageous, and you should be interested in contributing to our scholarly and research activity in the team or conduct research of your own interest.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.

Closing date for applications: 20th January 2025
Interviews are to be held: w/c 3rd February 2025
