This role is based across the Cumbria area.
As part of our dedicated team, you’ll provide psychological support and assessments for pupils and residentsunder the supervision of a qualified Psychologist. You’ll then create plans for psychological interventions, as you decide what’s appropriate to deliver the best results. Working as part of the team around the child that enable positive outcomes, you’ll liaise with parents, carers, colleagues and partner agencies. You’ll detect and address any emerging mental health issues, and will manage the children within the classroom. Some may exhibit very challenging behaviour, so both a resilient and empathetic approach will be key. Internally, you’ll be using your experience to support and develop the skills of the wider team, such as Support Workers.
With a degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, you’ll be eligible for graduate BPS membership. Your degree should include components relating to young people and mental health or autism, plus you’ll have worked with young people with SEMH and/or ASD for a minimum of 2 years. Crucially, you share the Witherslack ethos of offering the very highest standards of care to deliver the best outcomes for young people in all our homes and schools.
A degree of flexibility is required, between 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday (37 hours a week).
