This role involves working alongside our team of clinical psychologists and trauma and attachment therapists to provide detailed assessments of children’s complex needs, alongside monitoring the progress they have made in therapy. It also involves facilitating individual and group therapy programs based around CBT, Mindfulness and Sensory Regulation approaches. There are many additional opportunities for service-evaluation and research within the team.

We recognise that people from Black, Asian and other racial/ethnic groups that may be a minority within the UK, are under-represented in the profession of psychology, and would like to strongly invite individuals from these communities to apply for this post. This post will be supervised by a cisgender female clinical psychologist who identifies as mixed race, British Nigerian.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A Psychology degree recognised by the BPS (ideally 2:1 or above).
  • Experience of working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, in particular children living in foster or adoptive families or in residential care.
  • A good understanding of Attachment Theory.
  • Experience administering and analysing psychometric measures.
  • Excellent report-writing skills.
  • Good organisational skills, flexibility and autonomy.
  • Current UK driving licence and access to own car.

To apply for the position, please send your CV (2 sides maximum and accounting for all time periods since your degree) and a covering letter to by Monday 17th May 2021.

Shortlisted candidates will be sent a full job description and person specification and will be asked to complete an application form and to attend an online Introduction to the Service and Written Assessment task on Tuesday 25th May 2021 where they will be given 24 hours to complete a 2-page assessment report based on one of the assessment measures used by the service. Successful candidates will be invited for an online interview on Tuesday 8th June 2021, and will be sent a list of the interview questions plus the plan for a therapy group to deliver during the interview in advance.
