Job Description

Assistant Psychologist (South London)

(Fixed term/permanent contract available)

Starting salary £22,661– £25,935 per annum including London weighting, depending on experience (equivalent to NHS AfC Band 4)

Eagle House School (Sutton) and Eagle House 6th Form (Carshalton) are independent co-educational day provisions for students between the ages of 11 and 19, providing secondary and further education for students who have an autistic spectrum disorder and social communication difficulties (including Aspergers syndrome). We recognise that successful learning for our students is achieved through positive experiences and as such we strive to create a school day that is motivating, rewarding and purposeful for each young person, using a Positive Behaviour Support approach.

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CA Team) based across two sites, Eagle House School (Sutton) and Eagle House 6th Form (Carshalton). You will be a member of this dedicated team working alongside Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Behaviour Support Specialist and another Assistant Psychologist. We are looking for an individual who will be able to provide pupils, parents and staff with a comprehensive range of support, advice and guidance in relation to promoting positive behaviour and well-being. We have developed our own unique approach to teaching and learning, designed specifically for children and young people on the autistic spectrum. ‘The Eagle House Approach’ is based on a combination of best practice, experience, and innovation.

The successful candidate will work with staff and pupils across the schools as well as collaborate with families and external agencies to carry out assessments, interventions, monitor and report on progress and participate in in-service training.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum requirement of a Psychology Degree and have worked with individuals with autism and complex needs. Additional training and experience in mental health will be highly regarded.

The hours of work will be 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.15pm, 52 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will automatically be enrolled onto our private Health Care Plan.

Eagle House Group is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all of its employees to share this commitment. This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure & Barring Service.

If you are interested in joining our multi disciplinary team of professionals and wish to have an informal discussion or request an application pack, please contact the Human Resources Department on 0208 770 7788 or email irena.graham@eaglehousegroup.co.uk
