Job Description

Autism East Midlands

Autism Practitioner

Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of autistic people with complex needs?

Come and join our values-based organisation!  Autism East Midlands provides person centred supported living, residential care, day care & respite services throughout the East Midlands and will shortly be opening a new supported living service in Thorplands, Northampton. We have opportunities for Psychology graduates to join us in a variety of different services. We put individuals at the heart of everything we do; working with us you will be offering person centred support to individuals, enabling them to:

·Have the maximum choice and control over their lives.

·Progress towards their goals and outcomes

·Engage with the local community and develop their own networks of support

·Maintain and develop their independence

We are happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Autism Practitioner by providing a full training and development package. Whilst previous support worker experience or transferrable skills would be advantageous, they are not essential. Above all we want someone that shares our values of being:

·Caring and compassionate

·Showing dignity and respect

·Contributing to the work of a team

·Positive can-do attitude

If this sounds like you, we would love you to get in touch! We have our own in house Clinical Team, including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, who works into our services and we aim to support service users in a psychologically informed way. You would have the opportunity to contribute to our service users’ Positive Behaviour Support Plans, and gain valuable practical experience if you are thinking of pursuing a career in Applied Psychology.

We offer £10.19 per hour, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, comprehensive training and fully paid for induction. We are looking for full time (37 hours a week), part time and casual relief staff.
