Business Development Manager – Talent Assessment 

Based in Surrey

Following consistent growth and the addition of exciting new assessment solutions this year, we are looking to further develop our business development capabilities. 

The Role: Business Development Manager 

As Business Development Manager, you will take a leadership role in presenting Saville Assessment as provider of integrated talent assessment solutions, advice and technology. The key elements of the role include: 

  • Delivering an effective business development strategy 
  • Gaining market share in the workplace assessment space 
  • Identifying and winning new client relationships 
  • Growing and developing the business development team 

You will be a well-respected Occupational Psychologist with experience of shaping, selling and delivering effective assessment-based solutions across the employee life cycle. You will be experienced and confident in describing the technical aspects of deploying behavioural, cognitive and scenario-based assessment solutions. 

Excellence 

  • Plays a lead sales role on assessment pursuits in the market 
  • Coordinates go-to-market plans with other sales leaders in the wider Willis Towers Watson community 
  • Keeps professional knowledge up to date 
  • Maintains an awareness of trends in the assessment market 

Financial 

  • Achieves sales targets 
  • Weekly management of sales pipeline: such that you have an accurate ongoing pipeline 
  • Contributes to meeting or exceeding our annual profitability metrics 

Clients 

  • Demonstrates the ability to be a ‘trusted advisor’ with clients 
  • Shapes innovative assessment solutions, driven by Saville’s proprietary content and informed by talent management and employee insights best practice 
  • Identifies, shapes and wins assessment-based client projects across the talent life cycle including volume assessment pursuits 
  • Delegates delivery to appropriate resources 
  • Becomes a product expert on all proprietary assessment content and technology 

People 

  • Models and promotes a positive and professional work environment in everyday behaviour 
  • Works effectively with colleagues to sell & deliver work 
  • Propagates a sales culture by mentoring others, prioritising pursuits, emphasising the value we place in new business, learning from losses, celebrating and sharing wins, and recognising the sales contributions of others 
  • Demonstrates effective sales leadership behaviours, including team collaboration, compelling RFP writing, persistent follow up, sound judgement in scoping/pricing, and focusing on closing the deal 

The Requirements 

  • Strong drive to achieve results 
  • Delivers commercial sales targets 
  • Has a track record of growing talent assessment market share 
  • Proven client management skills 
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills 
  • Can demonstrate successful RFP and bid management 
  • Ability to influence senior management and boards and work across all levels of an organisation 
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and continuous improvement 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve difficult problems in a complex environment 
  • Occupational Psychology background 
  • Has completed BPS accredited training in the use of psychometric assessments 
  • Curious and passionate about the effective assessment of people
