Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.

We provide emotional and therapeutic services in 282 primary and secondary schools in England, Scotland and Wales, reaching a school population of 116,000 children - building children's resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play.

Place2Be also provides training on mental health and wellbeing for teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build “mentally healthy” schools and communities where all children can thrive and grow up with prospects, not problems.

Full-time 35 hpw

South West London, Wandsworth

As a key member of the Service Operations team, you will lead and manage all aspects of the field-based service, taking responsibility for up to 12 schools with either the full service model or Place for Counsellors service. You will provide direct line management and clinical supervision to School Project Managers, ensuring resources are available to meet service commitments and maintain the quality standards set by the organisation.

An experienced counsellor or therapist with demonstrable project management skills, you’ll have a strong track record of providing emotional support to children and the ability to line-manage in support of the development of others. As well as professional expertise, you’ll demonstrate real emotional resilience – ready to embrace all aspects of this hugely rewarding, yet demanding role.

If you share our core values of perseverance, integrity, compassion and creativity and have the counselling skills and patience to support some of the UK’s most vulnerable young people and families, we would love you to join us.  It’s sensitive and demanding work – but hugely rewarding and fulfilling - you will be helping give young people brighter futures.
