Our large and innovative psychological services team is expanding! The investment in psychological services continues to grow here at The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal and we are recruiting a number of positions to enable our highly valued team to grow further. Priory Group is the UK’s leading independent provider of mental health care and education services.  We have an outstanding reputation both for the service we deliver and for the investment we make in our people and in our environment.

An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist to join our British Isles DBT trained team in providing outstanding care for inpatient females with personality based difficulties. This specialist service is specifically designed to address the complex needs of females with personality disorders and offers an inclusive, recovery-focused programme using a non-restrictive and positive approach based on DBT treatment principles.

Suitable candidates will be dynamic in their ability to offer psychological leadership, and will have skills in assessment and intervention with individuals who have complex mental health needs. Applicants will need to have received extensive training in therapy (equivalent to clinical or counselling psychology doctoral training placements) with prior training or experience in DBT considered an additional advantage. DBT training will be provided for the successful applicant if needed.

The role involves being a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team and requires provision of consultancy, supervision and training to colleagues, and participation in research, evaluation and service development as appropriate. We welcome applications from both qualified Psychologists and those due to qualify in 2019.

The psychology department has strong links with local Universities, providing placements for clinical and counselling psychology trainees and other psychological specialists in training.
