Job Title: Psychologist with the WISER project - Innovative specialist project for women affected by domestic violence and multiple disadvantage
Location: Islington, with travel across Enfield, Camden, Haringey, Hackney and Waltham Forest
Salary: £50,000 per annum pro rata
Hours: 30 hours per week
Contract: This is a fixed term contract position until March 31st 2020

About the Service: Solace Women’s Aid is delighted to be the lead partner for this innovative cross-borough project, funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. This exciting partnership provides specialist advocacy for women whose experience of violence (VAWG) intersects with multiple and severe disadvantage.   We work with women who are frequently excluded from mainstream services and/or find it hard to engage with support which increases their vulnerability and risk.  Our assertive outreach approach, working across six London boroughs, enables women to access support, increase their self-esteem, reduce their risk and make safe choices.

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced, dynamic Psychologist to use their knowledge and skills in psychological theory and practice to support non-clinical advocates working with women experiencing VAWG and severe and multiple disadvantage. 

About You: You will have experience working as a clinical, counselling or forensic psychologist. Your role will include fostering trauma-informed practice in the project, providing clinical support to non-clinical advocates with casework and conducting ongoing clinical supervision for staff. You will also do some direct client work, offering assessments and brief psychological interventions, and support psychological thinking within the professional networks around the women. 
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and VAWG and a strong understanding of how this can make it difficult for women to engage with support. You will have worked with people experiencing various aspects of severe and multiple disadvantage: homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, insecure immigration status, prostitution, offending history and children taken into Care.
