Hours: Contract (5-15 Hours Weekly)

We are a successful private clinical practice in Central London and are currently expanding. As such, we are looking to hire an insightful, independent, professional, self-employed clinical or counselling psychologist for contract/part-time work in a private practice setting.

We also specialise in providing affirmative treatment for individuals within the LGBT+ community. As such, we actively encourage applications from positively identified LGBT+ practitioners who maintain specialised and in depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBT+ identities. Applicants must have clinical experience working affirmatively with this population. 

We also especially encourage applicants who use and value the 3rd wave therapies.

As a practitioner you will be asked to:

  • Meet with 5-15 individual clients or couples on a weekly basis
  • Meet for clinical supervision with the Clinical Director 1x monthly
  • Maintain up to date progress notes, reports and updates to referring psychiatrists, primary GP's and insurance companies
  • Formulate plans for psychological treatment that are grounded in theoretical and therapeutic models
  • Conduct brief psychological measurements including the BDI, BAI and CORE when necessary
  • Maintain healthy boundaries with clients, manage your diary and uphold cancellation policies
  • Manage client difficulties and potential high risk needs

Eligible applicants must be:

  • HCPC registered
  • BPS Chartered with 5 years of clinical work with individuals and/or couples (years in training included) 
  • Experience working with the NHS
  • Experience working with a wide range of psychological issues
  • Experience working with clients who are high risk and confidence in handling high risk situations
  • Experience and practice in 2+ models of therapy which must include a Third Wave Therapies
  • In depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQ+ identities and relationships and experience working with this community
  • A keen interest in working in a practice where services are provided for LGBTQ+ individuals
  • Willing & able to work evening hours (5pm and after) at least one day weekly
