Salary: £41,098 - £48,000 depending on experience

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours a week.  Part-time could be considered

The Consultancy Service

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate and highly skilled team of psychologists where you can use your skills across a range of clinical populations?  Our service is growing, so if you are a proactive Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with a strong client-focus, excellent communication skills and a “can-do” attitude, we want to hear from you.

Our service specialises in developing and delivering community based services for St Andrew’s.  We currently offer a range of services including, a busy private therapy clinic, an Expert Witness Service, Diagnostic Assessment Clinics and student counselling clinics at Universities. We also provide case consultation and reflective practise for Children’s Homes as well as running teaching sessions at schools, universities, care homes and local businesses on a variety of topics including mindfulness and stress management.

However, our service is expanding even further to provide Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments to school-aged children in Coventry and Warwickshire and we are seeking an enthusiastic psychologist to join our team to provide this service with other clinicians.

Whilst the majority of the role will be to support the ASD service, you will also be required to support our existing services with your broad range of clinical experience. We specifically need someone to support our work at the Royal Veterinary College working with students and supporting staff that work within children’s homes.  Therefore, experience of working with children and adults would be desirable.

The Role and Person

You will be able to work independently as well as closely and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. You will be eager to take ownership and responsibility for delivering your work and will be self-driven, results-oriented and be able to demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.

You will be encouraged to develop your strengths and skills through a robust structure of clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development. St Andrews has an excellent record of providing opportunities for research, training and continuing professional development so you will also have access to peer support from the wider Charity, as well as regular CPD events.

Although the Consultancy Service offices are based in Northampton, the post holder will also be required to deliver psychological services away from this base introducing variety to the structure of your week. Due to the travel required, a full driver’s licence is essential. However, in return, you will also benefit from having the flexibility to work from home when appropriate to do so.   You will also be supported to develop your role within our service according to your specific strengths and areas of professional interest.

In order to be eligible you will need to be registered with HCPC and the BPS.

ASD diagnostic experience is desirable but we can offer ADOS2 training if this is an area in which you would like to professionally develop.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of working successfully with a varied child and adult population with a wide range of mental health needs. You should have the clinical and interpersonal skills to independently deliver, to the level of excellence, psychological assessment and treatment in a variety of modalities.

The position is initially offered as a 12 month fixed term contact and there may be potential for longer term / permanent opportunities after this date.

We offer an excellent benefits package including pension, 38 days holiday, sickness policy on par with NHS, life cover, cycle to work scheme and childcare vouchers and opportunities for research, teaching and continuing professional development.

Closing date: Tuesday 1st May 2018
