Suttons Manor Hospital, situated in Romford, is a 26 bed specialist low secure service for males who are over the age of 50. We offer an age-appropriate environment for those who also have a mental health/personality disorder and/or dementia and/or have physical health care needs. Our aim is to help our patients rebuild confidence, self-esteem and hopes for the future. We keep our patients involved with the community, their family, and carers whenever possible.

A permanent part-time Clinical or Forensic Psychologist position has become available at Suttons Manor, low secure forensic, Hospital. It is recommended that Psychologists interested in applying have experience of and/or an interest in working with this older adult patient group in a forensic setting.

The successful candidate will join a small but supportive and enthusiastic Psychology Department comprising of one Lead Clinical Psychologist and two part-time Assistant Psychologists. The Psychologist will provide services across two low secure older adult units and be responsible for the provision of a high quality Clinical Psychology service. This includes; providing a Psychology service to older adults with a mental disorder (including personality disorder and dementia) through developing Psychological formulations and assessments, formulating plans for their Psychological treatments and implementing Psychological interventions for individuals and groups. They will be expected to provide psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals where applicable, and must be able to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. In addition, the Psychologist will play a key part in risk assessment and management, providing staff support and, where required, training to staff.

The successful candidate must be registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
