Clinical or Forensic Psychologist – Female CAMHS Pathway

Location: Northampton

Band: SM1 ( 8a)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has opened up to work in the largest adolescent inpatient service in Europe. The adolescent service is located in Northampton in a brand new building which was designed with service user input.

You role with us

We are looking for an innovative and dynamic HCPC Registered Forensic or Clinical psychologist to work in the female pathway, which currently includes two acute admission units, a treatment and recovery unit and an open unit. Young women are referred with a range of complex difficulties and co-morbidities including, mental illness, developmental trauma and neuro-developmental difficulties.  The pathway offers a range of highly specialised assessment and treatment options including a DBT service which comprises a multi-disciplinary consult.

The successful applicant will join a large, well established and varied psychology team which includes forensic and clinical psychologists supported by assistant and trainee psychologists. There are multiple opportunities for continuing professional development which includes training in specialised assessment and treatment methods as well as individual and group supervision.

The post holder will undertake complex assessments and interventions, influenced by a range of theoretical approaches. There will also be the expectation that the post holder will provide psychological consultation to the team and be involved in delivering reflective practice and staff support. St Andrew’s has strong ties to a number of academic institutions and there is the potential to deliver teaching and training within and outside of St Andrew’s as well as to get involved in research. The psychology service is dedicated to developing the profession and all staff are expected to attend a leadership programme to develop themselves and enable them to develop others to their full potential.
