Clinical or Forensic Psychologist

Salary: Band 8a £40,428 - £48,514 pa

Hours: f/t 37.5 per week, permanent

Location: Ravenswood House & New Forest Enterprise Business Centre

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and suitably qualified HCPC Registered Clinical or Forensic in a Band 8a role to work across Ashford low secure inpatient unit for people with learning disabilities, and the expanding multidisciplinary Forensic Community Learning Disability Team (FCLDT). Currently a project is underway for a new purpose building to be built at the main Tatchbury Mount site. Both services are planned to move there October 2019.  

Practice models in the service include, detailed risk assessment and formulation as well as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy informed interventions and care plans informed by Positive Behaviour Support. The inpatient service is temporarily based at Ravenswood House, Mayles Lane, Knowle, Fareham, PO17 5NA for one year.  The FCLDT are temporarily based at New Forest Enterprise Centre, Rushington Business Park, Totton, Southampton, SO40 9LA for one year.

The role will allow you to practice direct therapy approaches as well as work indirectly within established multidisciplinary teams.  It is expected that the post holder will be responsible for psychological group programmes.  The post holder will l be supervised by the service Principal Psychologist. The role would particularly suit a Psychologist who has special interests related to the learning disability field, in particular forensic skills

Close links exist with the Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton.  Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust supports continuing professional development and research activity, and there will be good links with other Psychological Therapy Services within Forensic Mental Health Services and local Community Learning Disability Services.
