Clinical Psychologist (Equivalent Band 8c)

To work within Christchurch units in Bedford and Northampton.

Salary: £67,247 per annum (£40,348.20 pro rota), working 3 days per week (2 days in Bedford, 1 day in Northampton) 24 hours per week.

We are seeking a Neuro/psychologist/ Clinical Psychologist with a keen interest in neuro-rehabilitation to be a key member of the multi-disciplinary therapy team based across our Bedford and Northampton services.

Your duties will involve working in the specialist units with a variety of Acquired brain injured patients e.g. with strokes and Traumatic brain injuries.  You will work within an inter-disciplinary team that includes Medical staff, Speech and Language therapists, Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and a full time Psychology assistant. This role will be undertaken with the support and supervision of the Consultant Neuropsychologist.

This will involve undertaking formulations leading onto intensive rehabilitation programs, research, service evaluations and audits, neuropsychological assessments, rehabilitation programs, writing risk assessments and interventions, to address cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties, such as verbal aggression and undertake group work and working with clients who have alcohol issues. Some knowledge of working with clients who have addictions would be desirable.  

You will also be part of future service developments e.g. The ‘Wycliffe House’.

You will hold at least a 2:1 BPS-recognized Psychology degree, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, additional qualifications e.g. QICN and be registered with the BPS and the HCPC.          

Occasional travel to our other services may be required so a car driver/owner would be essential. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
