Are you looking to use your clinical psychology expertise within a small and close-knit community where the service users, families and carers are encouraged to live their lives as independently as possible?
Are you looking for a role which challenges you to be flexible and work innovatively in a world where you reflect current thinking but also adapt to changing societal needs?
We are looking for a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist to support people with learning disabilities and/or autism. This is a specialist role where you will be required to provide, plan and develop a systematic and comprehensive Clinical Psychology Service to adults with Learning Disabilities and adults with Autism, both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key to this role, will be the need to undertake a range of highly specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to adults with a learning disability/autism, who may have highly complex and contentious conditions.
Your excellent communication skills will be crucial as you will be dealing with highly complex condition-related information to clients, their families and carers, where there may be significant barriers to this, including language difficulties or a highly emotive atmosphere.
Other support will be needed when supporting service users, together with their families and carers, when dealing with highly distressing or emotional circumstances, such as aggressive or violent behaviour, serious mental illness, or family breakdown.
Finally, you should hold Doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology recognised by HCPC with experience in assessing and managing a range of clinical problem types.
