Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen

Clinical Psychologist (2 Posts)

Band 8A (£45,446 - £51,883) per annum (1 year Band 7 preceptorship for newly qualified individuals) Full time 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for thoughtful, caring and innovative individuals to join us working with children, young people and their families within our 0-18 multi-disciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in NHS Grampian. We are seeking individuals that share values that are important to us - striving for excellence, being respectful, kind, collaborative, efficient, forward thinking, patient centred and resilient - and those that embody these values in their day to day work.

We have recently undergone a service redesign which has formed an across the age range service covering the whole of the Grampian region, with geographically based teams. We have 2 full-time Band 8A Clinical Psychologist posts available within the Aberdeen City CAMHS team. Joining us at this time means that there are lots of opportunities for staff to take responsibility for developing services within the newly formed structure. We are part of the North of Scotland Regional CAMHS and Tier 4 Networks and share a close relationship with Dudhope Young People’s In-patient Unit.

There are excellent opportunities for a wide range of clinical experience (1:1, family based, group work and consultative); developing skills in multiple offered therapeutic modalities; contributing to departmental research and audit; and to be part of a service undergoing new developments.

One to one, peer and multi-disciplinary supervision structures are in place to support professional reflection and growth.

There is an active monthly CPD programme and a whole service training plan. Experience of working collaboratively with other professional groups and partner agencies, demonstrable research and audit experience and previous experience of working autonomously within CAMHS will be an advantage. We encourage applications from current Doctoral trainees due to qualify in the coming 12 months.
