About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our enthusiastic and friendly Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The purpose of this role is to provide a specialist clinical psychology service to children and adolescents who experience problems with their mental health and wellbeing.
You will get the chance to deal with your own caseload of complex psychological cases and will be required to deliver a service entailing high levels of mental and emotional intensity whilst maintaining your own clinical records, both electronically and paper. You will be required to evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
The service offers a variety of psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and third-wave behaviour therapies to children and adolescents where appropriate and to provide training and supervision to other CAMHS professionals in their usage of psychological interventions.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Clinical Psychology qualification at Doctorate level and be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent team work skills and a commitment to service development
