We offer adoptive placements and a range of specialist therapeutic services to adopted children and their families. Typically the children have a history of attachment difficulties, developmental trauma and in some cases neurodevelopmental conditions. They are generally seen as having difficulties in a number of areas of their life which require a multi-professional approach to assessment and understanding. We are expanding our Therapy services and are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, Clinical Psychologist to work within an innovative multi-disciplinary clinical team led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. We are interested in applications from individuals who would like to contribute to an innovative service in this sector.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Providing attachment based therapeutic services to children and their families through specialist clinical psychological assessments, including Developmental Trauma & Attachment assessments and Neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • To contribute to the multi-disciplinary team assessments and interventions including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and the Nurturing Attachment Group Programme
  • Working to improve outcomes for children and families and contributing to service evaluation, research and policy development as appropriate.

We would like to hear from people who are deeply interested in developing services for adoptive families which are innovative and of a high quality.  Eligible applicants will have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience, be BPS and HCPC registered and be interested in a Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) approach.  As a training provider ourselves, we are committed to offering our staff further training and recognise the importance of developing staff to reach their full potential.
