Our large and innovative psychological services team is expanding! The investment in psychological services continues to grow here at The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal and we are currently recruiting a number of positions to enable our highly valued team to grow further. Priory Group is the UK’s leading independent provider of mental health, care and education services. We have an outstanding reputation both for the service we deliver and for the investment we make in our people and in our environment.
An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time clinical psychologist to join the enthusiastic and skilled multidisciplinary team in our specialist CAMHS low secure unit for young women. Woodlands is a low secure unit for young women who often have a history of complex needs and trauma, and present with high levels of self-harm, amongst other risks and complexities. The unit is a past winner of the NAPICU team of the year award and has developed an innovative clinical model over 10 years that has led to a strong reputation and positive outcomes. Therapeutic work is key as is least restrictive practice and a recovery focus. The post holder will have excellent skills in engaging young people as well as specialist skills in therapeutic models appropriate to the client group such as DBT, Schema Therapy, CAT, ACT etc.
Suitable candidates will have a high level of knowledge and skills in assessment and intervention with young people with complex mental health needs, drawing flexibly on a range of models, theories and approaches in their work. The post-holder will join a supportive network of psychological specialists in the hospital and will access high quality supervision and support. They will enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Equally important to the role is the provision of consultancy, supervision and training to colleagues and participation in research, evaluation and service development as appropriate. We welcome applications from both qualified Clinical Psychologists and those due to qualify in 2019.
The psychology department has strong links with local Universities, providing placements for clinical and counselling psychology trainees and other psychological specialists in training.
