Location: Lake District, Cumbria. (Relocation fees offered where appropriate)

Band: Comparative with NHS pay scale of 8b – 8c (dependent on experience)

We currently have a vacancy for a full time Clinical Psychologist or Consultant Clinical Psychologist (dependent on experience) working in the South & West of Cumbria. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, well-established multi-disciplinary team offering specialist services to adults with Learning Disabilities, Mental Ill-health and complex needs.

In Cumbria, Health & Social Care Partnerships (H&SCP) have 2 services, one situated in Kendal and the other is in Workington. Clinical Psychology is a highly valued part of the team and the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop an expert presence contributing equally across both services.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary assessments, one to one therapy, group interventions and to ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist psychological service for individuals who live at the services whilst also supporting the staff teams.

The post will involve collaborative working with the Acute Trusts within Cumbria, primary care, CPFT community and mental health services, CCG and Service Users. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate a high level of experience of working with people who have a learning disability, mental health issues and who are able to work both clinically and strategically. Experience of working with individuals with a forensic background would be advantageous but not essential. The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary team of Nurses, 1 Occupational Therapist and 2 Therapy Assistants.

Professional development and supervision is well supported and there is a strong professional presence within the services. There is an expectation that you will maintain peer support systems and you will have significant opportunities to become involved in leadership, service development and/or clinical research. 

We have close links with local Clinical Psychologists in the NHS and the post holder will have the opportunity to maintain and develop such relationships.
