Professors Daniel Freeman, David Clark, Graham Dunn, & Mel Slater have been awarded a new grant by the Medical Research Council (MRC) to develop a virtual reality treatment for patients with psychosis. We wish to appoint a clinical psychologist to assist in the development of the treatment and to run a clinical trial. You will be based in the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis team in the Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital at the University of Oxford.
This post is for a fixed term (funded for 3 years)
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative treatments in a clinical psychology research team. The position would suit a clinical psychologist with strong interests in cognitive therapy, treatment communication and dissemination, and clinical trials. There will be occasional visits to Barcelona to work with the programming team. Clinically the psychologist will work in Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and neighbouring trusts that partner with our group.
You will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, along with experience of clinical research and excellent cognitive therapy skills. Although based in Oxford you are likely to travel throughout Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and the neighbouring participating NHS Trusts. This would be facilitated by having a valid driving licence, and access to own or other independent means of transport.
Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment with the University will be subject to a satisfactory disclosure report from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement which explains how you meet the selection criteria for the post, and details of two referees as part of your online application.
