Phoenix Psychology is a well-established and respected independent provider of psychological services based in Warwickshire. We pride ourselves on providing ethical, clinician led services and being a great place to work.
We are looking for Clinical Psychologists to join our team specialising in complex Child and Family work on a permanent basis.
Phoenix has always worked very closely with Local Authorities and the NHS, as well as a range of residential services providing specialist assessments and interventions. We have several very exciting projects that involve close collaboration with our colleagues in statutory services, for example, Warwickshire County Council and Adoption Central England (ACE). We are a flexible and dynamic organisation and we are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to help us continue to grow and respond.
Whilst we anticipate tailoring the specific elements of the role to the post-holder’s skills and talents, much of our work is with looked after and / or adopted children, parents and carers as well as those on the edge of care or with complex needs. Developmental Trauma and attachment is the ‘thread’ that connects the majority our work.
Many of the services we provide are very much informed by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and the ethos of PACE. We are therefore looking for someone for whom this would be a ‘good fit’. Experience with the DDP model is desirable, but we have a track record of investing in additional training and supporting Psychologists to advance their skills. Additional skills and approaches are also welcomed and supported including those related to working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. ASD), adult therapy approaches (e.g. CAT, ACT) and trauma (e.g. EMDR).
We have excellent links with local universities and we offer both teaching and a specialist LAC placement for Clinical Psychology training programmes. Phoenix Psychology offers a supportive, positive and motivating workplace and we place value on individual skills and efforts. We have family friendly policies relating to work life balance and we appreciate our staff.
We are proud of the services that we offer at Phoenix Psychology and receive consistently positive feedback from our services users, partners and commissioners. These relationships are important to us. Whilst we are a creative independent service, we see ourselves very much as public servants and therefore clear accountability, ethics and value for money are central to our values.
Being an independent service, we can be responsive, be flexible and ‘think outside the box’ – and the successful candidate must be able to do the same.
Salary and benefits are competitive.
We invite applicants to please send a covering letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions about the role contact Dr Liz Gillett (Director) or Dr Billy Smythe (Head of LAC and Adoption Services) on 01926 485760. Closing date: Friday 14 September 2018 at 5pm
