Chrysalis Associates are an independent multi-disciplinary therapeutic team and a regional centre of excellence in the assessment and treatment of developmental trauma and attachment difficulties in children. The team is led by two Clinical Psychologists and we are currently looking for another energetic and enthusiastic Clinical or Educational Psychologist to join our team.
This role involves undertaking detailed psychological assessments of children’s complex needs. It also includes delivering weekly dyadic therapy and therapeutic parenting sessions using the models of Theraplay, DDP and EMDR, as well as individual therapy sessions with children and adults.
The post involves offering both Face-to-Face and virtual therapy sessions, and a mixture of working from home and from our therapy base in Sheffield with the possibility of travelling on occasion to our other clinics. As part of this post, training in Theraplay, DDP and EMDR will be funded by the company as required.

We are looking for candidates with:
- A Doctorate in Clinical or Educational Psychology.
- Experience of working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, in particular children living in foster or adoptive families or in residential care.
- A good understanding of Attachment Theory.
- Exposure to and experience of Theraplay, DDP and/or EMDR
- Experience administering and analysing psychometric measures.
- Excellent report-writing skills.
- Good organisational skills, flexibility and autonomy.
- Current UK driving licence and access to own car.

Potential applicants would be welcome to email us to arrange an informal conversation with one of the Clinical Psychologists/Company Directors. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a set of written reports for a referrer, parents, child and school based on an anonymised Case Study and the results of a set of psychometric measures commonly used by Chrysalis Associates. Candidates will be sent the case study and measures on Friday 20 th August and will need to submit their reports by Friday 27 th August.
Successful candidates will be invited for a Face-to-Face interview on Friday 3 rd September and will be sent a list of the interview questions in advance. The interview will also include a role-play of an assessment feedback meeting with the parents of the child featured in the written reports.
