Job Description

Priory and Partnerships in Care in South Wales is an Independent Healthcare Provider offering high quality psychiatric care to individuals with a range of forensic and mental health needs. The service is seeking passionate and motivated psychologists to work in Medium Secure, Low Secure and Rehabilitation settings. We are looking to recruit psychologists to work with male and female service users who present with a range of difficulties including personality disorder, mental illness, learning disability and developmental disorders. 

Llanarth Court Hospital is home to 115 residents and is based near Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. The hospital is set in beautiful grounds, where service users can relax on the lawns and beside the lake. Ty Catrin is a 45 bed unit in the vibrant city of Cardiff offering community reintegration and good links to community services. Church Village is a 12 bedded female LD service set in the Welsh Valleys, near Pontypridd. This service aims to support service users in their transitions from secure care to community living.

We are currently recruiting for Full Time and Part Time Clinical / Forensic Psychologists to join a dynamic and well established psychology team. The psychological services in the area are overseen by Regional Psychologists who foster a supportive environment and encourage CPD opportunities. 

Psychologists are embedded in Multi-Disciplinary Teams, working alongside nurses, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers and other colleagues, to provide high quality compassionate care. A range of psychological interventions are provided including Metallisation Based Treatment, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. Treatment focusses on Offending Behaviour and learning to live with mental health difficulties. 

The role of the psychologist includes making a substantial difference to the lives of service users through assessment and formulation of needs, group and individual intervention, supervision, working with staff teams to promote a psychologically informed approach, training, service evaluation and development. 

We have strong links with local universities. As a registered psychologist you would have opportunities to enhance your existing skills and develop new areas of expertise.
