As a Clinical Supervisor within the Hackney CYPS Clinical Service, you will provide high quality and effective clinical supervision to Specialist Clinical Practitioners delivering assessments and interventions to children, young people and their families. You will also provide advice, consultation and training to professionals and clients of the service, to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and families with whom we work. There will be opportunities for you to contribute to and lead on specialist service developments and to deliver training; for example, through our in-house systemic training programme and specialist foster carer training curriculum.

Hackney’s Clinical Service is a well-established specialist CAMHS and has a strong learning culture, as well as ongoing ties to local and national partners in developing best practice. We have a strong commitment to User Involvement, and to providing a range of evidence-based approaches including Systemic, Attachment-focused and Cognitive-Behavioural interventions. We offer an attractive CPD package and opportunities to undertake service-related research.

Reporting to the Clinical Lead, you will be part of a highly specialist and integrated Clinical Service that delivers high quality specialist assessments and multi-modal interventions to children who are in receipt of services via Targeted Youth Support, Family Support, Children’s Social Care and the Youth Offending Team. This includes children who are In Need, subject to Child Protection Plans, and Looked After and who have a range of complex needs in relation to their emotional health and wellbeing. You will supervise several members of the clinical team, ensuring that assessment and treatment plans are evidence-based, collaborative, outcome-focussed and completed in a timely and professional manner.

Dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate, you’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families. You will take a lead role in the development of the Clinical Service at strategic and operational levels, helping to shape clinical practice in a local authority at the forefront of innovative work with children and families.

Candidates must hold a UK recognised psychology or systemic psychotherapy qualification (with current professional registration) with a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in delivering specialist therapies to children and families from a range of backgrounds. You will have Clinical Supervision training and/or substantial training in supervising clinical staff in a child and family service setting, and be able to demonstrate continuing professional development, including advanced post-qualification training in relevant areas.

An enhanced DBS check is required.
