About the role and our team
Are you a Clinical Psychologist ready for a new challenge? Join our team in the Mental Health Service on the Isle of Man!
In this role you’ll develop and provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to service users with physical health needs. This is a new service on the Island, so you’ll have a large degree of autonomy to choose the focus of service development, designing it in line with best practice and what you believe the Island requires.
Every day is different in this role, bringing new challenges and opportunities. Your day could involve teaching, formulating cases, providing education to patient groups, as well as CBT work with individuals or couples around adjustment to conditions or other mental health needs. You’ll also work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams and services across Manx Care, providing specialist advice, including specialist areas like Diabetes and Pain Management.
What can this role offer me?
By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
You can take advantage of the excellent opportunities we provide for personal and professional development. This includes the use of our Learning, Education and Development Centre and the fantastic range of funded courses we support.
We will also support research, if there are areas of research you are keen to undertake, and there is a very supportive Local Research Ethics Committee (LREC) on the Island.
Manx Care is committed to creating smoke-free spaces and is ‘proud to be smoke free’ as part of the overall Isle of Man Smoke Free 2030 ambition. As of April 1st 2021 smoking will no longer be permitted on our Manx Care sites. For support and advice on abstinence from smoking, please contact Quit4You on 642404 or Quit4You@gov.im
