Service expansion within West Sussex has created an exciting opportunity for a talented individual, with the creation of a new Consultant Psychologist role in our forensic mental health and intensive rehabilitation services in West Sussex.
Based in our low secure forensic mental health service at the Chichester Centre, you will hold responsibility for providing supervision and leadership for the psychology and psychological therapies team in the delivery of high quality psychological assessment and interventions across the low secure service. You will carry a clinical caseload within a defined area of the service. You will also support the lead psychologist within our intensive rehabilitation service at Horsham by providing clinical supervision and professional leadership.
You will have expertise in working with forensic clients, and a strong record of providing psychological assessments and interventions to people with high levels of complex needs in a range of settings. You will have an established base of experience in leading others and supporting innovation and the development of sustainable services.
Our services are based in the principles of Secure Recovery, which originated in the Forensic Healthcare Service in Sussex. In all areas, there is a strong commitment to service user involvement and leadership. The service is linked to the Sussex Restorative Justice Partnership.
You will take up your role alongside other consultant psychologists within the large psychology and psychological therapies team across the Forensic Healthcare Service, and join a local team of highly experienced and creative senior clinicians and managers. There is a culture of support for the development of clinical interests and expertise, and for research and innovation, with a designated Forensic Clinical Academic Group. People are encouraged to make use of training opportunities within the Trust and beyond. There is an active programme of training and deployment of non-medical Responsible Clinicians within the Trust, including within the Forensic Healthcare Service.
Our most recent CQC inspection (September 2016) rated our services as Good overall (with Outstanding for Effective) and we are committed to developing and enhancing the quality of our services in all areas. We are proud of the work we do and the services which we provide.
