The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues. In April 2019, the Centre opened its new Centre of Excellence located in King’s Cross.
Child and Young Person Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) is a service transformation programme led by NHS England of which a large part is training for managers, supervisors and clinicians who are implementing CYP IAPT. This Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Young Persons IAPT Therapy offers students two shared Core Skills Modules and a modality training route including Interpersonal Therapy for Adolescents (IPT-A), and population specific training for working with Under 5s and Children and Young People with Autistic Spectrum or Learning Disorders.
The postholder will undertake a significant role in the delivery of the Core Skills teaching, assessment and on-going development of the modules contributing towards the Postgraduate Diploma.
The Course Tutor will be expected to teach on topics which may include Developmental Psychology, Routine Outcome Monitoring, Assessment and Collaborative Formulation; tailoring these presentations to relate to the modality streams and specific population groups that are the focus of the student’s study. The Course Tutor will also support the students’ clinical placements by linking with their NHS Trusts or Voluntary Sector Services, attending practice tutor groups, practice tutor group staff meetings and marking workshops.
The post-holder will be based at the Anna Freud Centre, 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH.
The Centre values diversity and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.
