A great opportunity has arisen within the Occupational Health Unit for an enthusiastic and experienced Counsellor to become part of the team of highly motivated, supportive and friendly Occupational Health Advisors, Doctors, Administrative Assistants and Wellbeing Staff.
In order to deliver a first class Wellbeing service throughout Gwent Police, the Occupational Health Department are looking for a Counsellor to join them to support the psychological services currently offered in all areas of health and wellbeing. The role is primarily based in the Occupational Health Unit in Llantarnam where the majority of Counselling appointments will be scheduled. The successful candidate will also develop and support with wellbeing programmes to support the psychological wellbeing of our police officers and staff. The Counsellor will also provide clinical supervision to staff who are involved supporting others to deal with traumatic incidents.
A minimum of a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling is required and the successful candidate must be accredited with the BACP/UKCP/BABCP or equivalent. They will also be required to have specific expertise in managing traumatic stress, PTSD and complex trauma.
