Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Worker
Hours: 37 hours
Location: Norwich/South Norfolk/East Norfolk
Salary £32,814 - £46,743
We are continuing to expand our successful FFT service in Norfolk. Therefore we are seeking an experienced and professional individual (social work, mental health nursing, psychology) to join a Functional Family Therapy Service in Norfolk. The team deliver Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW); an adaptation of the FFT model for families in which there is child abuse and neglect present. It is a licenced, evidence-based programme with a strong track record. This is the second such service in the UK, so this is an exciting development for clinical practice. This is an outcomes-based contract for children 8-18 at risk of care entry (using a social impact bond structure), working to prevent children and young people entering care. We also work with a smaller cohort of young people who have entered care, for whom the service will manage a return home using the FFT-CW intervention. With significant family therapy experience, you may already be on the journey towards accreditation as a family therapist or systemic practitioner (in which case we may help to support your training) or you may already be qualified. You will be joining a current team of 5 therapists. The team has been operational since March 2019 covering the county and is embedded into the Social Care Teams in Kings Lynn, Norwich, Breckland and Great Yarmouth. Working with the FFT UK Consultant, you will follow a structured pathway of continuous professional development in FFT-CW and family therapy practice. You will achieve fidelity to the therapeutic model through consultation, coaching and training supported by the Supervisor and FFT UK Consultant. You will take referrals from Norfolk Social Care and establish effective working relationships with both Social Care and partner agencies to achieve outcomes for families. You will be comfortable working with the FFT-CW model which will make the best of your skills in engaging families and creating sustainable change with them. You will take an outcome-focussed approach with good sensitivity to dynamic risk, child protection, interagency working and complexity.
Please note, there is potential to progress to Supervisor in this role. A relocation package is also available.
