Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Workers
Hours: 37 hours
Salary £33,222 - £49,969
We are seeking experienced and suitably qualified staff to join a Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare Service in Norfolk. This will be the second such service in the UK, so this is an exciting development for clinical practice. This is an outcomes-based contract for children 8-18 at risk of care entry (using a social impact bond structure) therefore the service is expected to deliver outcomes for young people and their families where care placement or custody are likely. There is a smaller cohort of young people who have entered care for whom the service will manage a return home using the FFT CW intervention. We are seeking experienced and professionally qualified staff (social work, mental health nursing, psychology) to establish the Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare Service in Norfolk as FFT-CW Workers. With significant family therapy experience you may already be on the journey towards accreditation as a family therapist or systemic practitioner, in which case we may help to support your training, or you may already be qualified. You will join a new team of up to 6 FFT-CW workers covering Norfolk and embedded into the Social Care Teams in Kings Lynn, Norwich and Thetford.
This is the final appointment for a team which is now establishing itself and mobilising in Norfolk. With a new Supervisor and well qualified and motivated staff group you will join a small, enthusiastic team taking cases in Norfolk and developing new relationships with existing services. This is an exciting time to join and to develop your skills within the team as the new service gets underway. The post is County wide but will largely work in the North and Broadland areas of Norfolk.
Working with the FFT UK Consultant you will follow a structured development pathway of continuous professional development in FFT CW and family therapy practice. You will achieve fidelity to the therapeutic model through consultation, coaching and training supported by the Supervisor and FFT UK Consultant. You will take referrals from Norfolk Social Care and establish effective working relationships with both Social Care and partner agencies in service of the achievement of outcomes for families. You will be comfortable working with the FFT CW model which will make the best of your skills in engaging families and creating sustainable changes with them. You will take an outcome focussed approach with good sensitivity to dynamic risk, child protection, interagency working and complexity.
