Greenwich Mencap is a small registered member-led charity working with and for people with a learning disability and their families in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Greenwich Mencap’s Greenlights Project is an innovative behaviour support service funded by the Big Lottery Fund until the end of December 2022 for families where a child aged 0-11 years has a learning disability/autism and exhibits challenging behaviour.
The Greenlights Coordinator supports families who are experiencing behavioural difficulties from their child to develop coping strategies / behaviour management skills, to understand and manage sibling rivalry & to improve communication skills. The coordinator also provides workshops to families to help them understand and manage challenging behaviour. The support is delivered over 35 hours a week and most of these hours will be spent with the families in their homes.
This is a great opportunity for a psychology graduate passionate about learning disabilities and autism. Clinical supervision is provided in addition to excellent training opportunities in a vibrant and diverse borough.
Flexible working and job sharing opportunities will be considered if you have the skills and experience we are looking for.
