As the Head of Assessment, you’ll lead, develop and execute strategic assessment requirements, across all our disciplines and functions. You’ll drive modern, innovative and leading-edge assessment practices, as well as provide new joiners and internal candidates with an innovative, customer-centric assessment process.

About the opportunity

A true leader, you’ll guide a small team through delivering our business priorities. Focusing on developing everyone’s skills, you’ll define assessment standards on specialist and senior roles across all functions. Here, you’ll ensure inclusivity, and support our D&I ambitions. You’ll manage new design projects and ensure their high quality, as well as review campaigns – this way all assessments will be predictive of role performances.

By measuring feedback with internal and external partners, you’ll support early careers and programmatic hiring. You’ll create tools for both passive and active candidates, and proactively share market insights. Ultimately, at BP, you’ll unlock human energy, and deliver a talent pool of diverse, high-performing, motivated employees.

About you

You’ve got great experience in selection methodologies and tools, and good understanding of new assessment approaches using tech such as virtual reality, AI and gamification. You’re committed to designing the best experiences, and highly motivated to drive significant change in assessment - globally.

Furthermore, you can easily lead a team of professionals, manage supplier relationships and adhere to global contracts. You’re a fast learner who can succeed in a complex, highly matrixed environment, while building strong connections at all levels. Digitally savvy, you can work with a great variety of assessment tools and manage budgets with ease.

Ideally, you’ve got a BPS Level A and B qualification, and an MSc in Business Psychology. Also, having a Chartered status or the equivalent PhD, is highly desirable.
