The School of Psychology sits within the College of Life and Environment Sciences. It is one of the UK’s most prestigious and indeed largest Schools of Psychology, and cover the breadth of the discipline in both research and teaching; these are represented through the School’s research themes, centres and institutes. The role of Head of Psychology offers an ambitious individual the opportunity to provide strong leadership and inspiration across all of these activities. The appointee will be academically credible, with an outstanding research and teaching reputation, as well as the wherewithal to develop and implement a compelling vision that will take this excellent School to the next stage of its evolution. The post reports to the Head of College and, together with the three other Heads of Schools, has a place on the College Board. Heads of School contribute to development of the College’s strategic plans and direction. There are significant opportunities to work with the other three Heads of School and participate in the broader life of the College and University. The Head of the School of Psychology will be appointed as a fully tenured academic with a four year term of office with an option to extend as Head of School.
