IICSA is one of the most important and high-profile public inquiries ever established. You will promote the trauma-informed approach within the Inquiry, direct the emotional support provided to victims and survivors and investigation witnesses, and will have accountability for the safeguarding practice within the organisation. You will also manage the team that work to pass allegations of child abuse to Operation Hydrant, a national police team.
This role involves leading a multi-disciplinary, talented team of up to 20 staff, comprising psychologists, social workers, counsellors, support workers, and specialist civil servants. The team is split between London and Yorkshire and the post-holder may be based in either location. Regular travel is required in the role to IICSA offices across England and Wales.
The successful candidate will have strong understanding of the traumatic impact of child sexual abuse and will be committed to ensuring the well-being of victims and survivors. They will be a values driven practitioner, and work with reference to the Inquiry’s values of respect, trust, independence and courage.
