Making a difference for children with autism

Head of Therapy (Clinical Psychologist)

Band 8a equivalent depending on experience

Full time with paid school holidays

Papillon House School, set in extensive woodlands in Tadworth, Surrey, is an independent day school for children and young people with profound autism and associated challenging behaviours.

Our recent Ofsted graded the School as “Outstanding.”

“Leaders and staff bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their roles. Exceptionally strong and charismatic teamwork characterises almost all aspects of the school’s provision. This is a united school community that is fully dedicated to serving its pupils exceptionally well” Ofsted June 2018

We have an incredible and rare opportunity for a Head of Therapy to join our friendly school team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of therapy working alongside a dedicated and dynamic team of therapists in providing an integrated service to our children and young people.

The Therapy Team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and a Creative Arts Leader.  In addition to the leadership role you will also have the opportunity to hold a small caseload of children. You will have experience of working with children with autism and will be dynamic and creative in your approach to management and the provision of therapy.

The successful candidate will also have a leadership role as part of the School Management Team working together on the strategic development of the school.

We would welcome applications from Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists or Speech and Language Therapists that believe they have the relevant skills. Ideally, we are seeking a full time Head of Therapy however, for the right candidate we may consider a slight reduction in hours.

We in turn will support and encourage your continuing professional development and provide regular supervision and training opportunities.

Benefits include paid school holidays and a pension scheme.

Visits to the school are essential.

For an informal discussion about the role or to arrange a visit to the School please contact Liz Evans, Head of Therapy or Alex Labbett, Business Manager

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
