Job Description

A unique and first of a kind, senior role has been developed as part of an expansion of our Staff Psychological Wellbeing Service in Hywel Dda UHB.  You will be part of an established team but as this is a new development, you will be instrumental in making this role your own.

We are looking for someone with established expertise in working with psychological trauma, who can work with skill and ease across teams and systems and who can be creative in the application of knowledge and models.

A major part of the role is the development and implementation of a Trauma Response Programme for our organisation. This will include assessment of need, development of training programmes, provision of supervision and consultation to senior leaders, managers and teams, advising on critical incident management, debriefing and models of support. You will also provide highly specialist psychological trauma assessment and interventions for staff.

You will also oversee and coordinate the provision of high quality specialist psychological and counselling services to employees across the Health Board. This aspect of your role requires sound leadership skills and the ability to work with practitioners from a range of backgrounds and will provide the opportunity for evaluation, innovation and service improvement.

Covering three counties, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, the choice is yours as to where you will be based which will give you total flexibility as to where you would like to be located should you be moving into the area.  This post is also 0.8wte to support your work-life balance!

You will join an established and highly regarded team and have professional support from the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Head of Service, who is available for an informal discussion prior to you applying.  You will also have access to appropriate and specialist supervision and be able to join supportive peer networks in the field of Organisational Health Psychology.

This new role is an excellent opportunity to make a significant difference to the health and wellbeing of our staff, through direct psychological interventions, informing culture, leadership and team functioning, we look forward to hearing from you.

The Health Board is committed to supporting its staff to fully embrace the need for bilingualism thereby enhancing patient and service user experiences.  In our commitment to increase the number of staff who are able to communicate in Welsh with patients and professionals, we welcome applications from Welsh speakers.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. If you do not meet the Welsh Language requirements specified the Health Board offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet these minimal desirable requirements during the course of your employment with us.

Interviews will be held on 30th September 2021
